Wallet

Definition

Software or hardware that stores private keys and allows users to send, receive, and manage their cryptocurrency. Wallets don't actually store crypto — they store the keys that prove ownership.

Why It Matters

Wallets are the primary interface between users and the blockchain. Choosing the right wallet and understanding how they work is fundamental to crypto security.

A beginner downloads MetaMask as a browser extension wallet to interact with Ethereum-based DeFi applications.
