A unique identifier for a cryptocurrency wallet — a string of alphanumeric characters that represents a destination on the blockchain where funds can be sent. Similar to an email address for money.
Why It Matters
Your wallet address is what you share to receive funds. Understanding that different blockchains have different address formats helps prevent sending assets to incompatible chains and losing them.
Example
An Ethereum wallet address looks like: 0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e. Bitcoin addresses look different — never send ETH to a Bitcoin address.
